She is an active member of the Piping and Dancing Association of New Zealand and currently holds the position of President of the Taranaki center of the Piping and Dancing Association. The regional members have been able to perform with members of the dance company and also worked with the dance company directors. I thoroughly enjoy being portion of the Technical committee and look forward to contributing to the Academy as it moves into the 21st century. Being involved in Highland and National Dancing has, and continues to be a passion.
Although not teaching at present former pupils were very successful in both examinations and competitions. Under the guidance of Mrs Parker Adele gained the superior training and education on the history and technique of Highland Dancing as promoted by the NZ Academy of Highland and National Dancing and learn the importance of preserving the history and fundamentals or our technique as we move forward in the unused world. Steps must be recognized by the main bottom movement within the step, this often being combined with Flinging thus giving the steps the characteristics of the Highland Fling. The New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing Inc was first inaugurated in 1945 with the objective to hoist the standard of technique and execution and to establish a fuller thankfulness of the art and beauty of the national dances.
Members of the committee prepare and conduct examinations, and yield ongoing training for Academy members. Avalon has a huge love of dance and wishes to serve all dancers in Fresh Zealand for the betterment of Highland and National dancing and retain the heritage that has been handed down through the years in Fresh Zealand. I was privileged to be a demonstrator for the Technical Committee, and then appointed to the Technical Committee. She has been on the Technical Committee of the NZ Academy of Highland National Dancing for 24 years.
In her hasty twenties Mrs Hall became a demonstrator for the Technical Committee and later a Technical Committee member. It is certainly a privilege to labor with senior dancers from throughout New Zealand in this exciting fresh dance company, showcasing their talents both nationally and internationally. Irish Jig Single Time Irish Jig Double Time Irish Hornpipe Irish Reel Sailors Hornpipe There is a novice assessment programmed in store which allows children, who are not old enough or advanced sufficient to entire a packed examination, to calm reach a goal of attaining a positive standard of performance. She passed all Academy examinations under the tuition of Mrs Jeanie Eaton and after a triumphant competitive career which included winning several New Zealand, Island and center Championship titles under the guidance of Mrs Jeanie Eaton and Mrs Emma Brown, she became an Executive Council member of the Fresh Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing Association.
Through the dedicated contribution of successive Executive and Technical members, the Academy has developed examinations and qualifications to train our dancers to become eligible to adjudicate and teach and to support the Academy. On the retirement of the preceding Technical Director Mrs Brown I was appointed as Technical Director. In 199 Mrs Hall represented the New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing at the International Highland Dance Conference in La Vegas, conducting Step Dancing workshops and speaking on an international panel. It is the continuing efforts of Academy members passing on to latter generations their love of dance, their knowledge, and their enthusiasm for the preservation of Scottish dance and heritage in Fresh Zealand that is the strength of the New Zealand Academy of Highland and National Dancing.
There are 10 main dances in the Fresh Zealand Academy syllabus that are also regularly performed competitively within New Zealand. The five Highland dances are Highland Fling Sword Sean Truibhas Highland Reel O Tull och The five step dances are. It is interesting to note that it is tranquil taught in one of the Naval schools in England today
