What you should know about Danceworks
We provide excellent tuition in dance, and inspire our young students to succeed and excel . Since 2011, we have inspired our students to excel while gaining a love and respect for our art form. Although we expect high standards, it can still be done in a kind and caring way so students enjoy class while achieving results. Convenience for parents is a top priority of ours, we welcome you to use the common room areas especially the toy area for siblings. With all four studios under the same roof we can provide all our lessons in the same building meaning you don't have to cart children from one studio to the next for the different genres of dance.
Once my own professional career ended I returned to New Zealand with the hope of teaching young children the love of dance
Thank you and welcome, if you or your child is into Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap or Contemporary then we have the class for you. In 2012 I relocated to Palmerston North and began teaching ballet and contemporary dance at a local dance school prior becoming a piece of the DanceWorks family in 2014. It prepares students for a career in dance and is good for students from the age of eleven years. During her time in between school and dance, she enjoys taking portion in musicals with her first experience in theater being end year when she had a role as a principal dancer in West Side Story. Dance exercise is incredible because dance covers all aspects of exercise and you get to do it in a group environment and make friends at the identical time.
Hannah has completed exams in both Ballet and Jazz each year, attaining RAD Ballet Grade Six and NZAMD Jazz Grade Five in 2012. Ribbons will be available in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop Contemporary from all ages and grades. I have never enjoyed the gym and although ballet dance is an outstanding labor out our focus in class was everlasting technique not conditioning or cardie. We have 4 beautiful studios for hire, Studios 1, 2 3 are specific to dance but Studio 4 can be worn for parties, meetings, rehearsals and much more.
Our 4th Studio becomes an awesome Disco venue with the lights turned out! Some people seem to think that good dancers are born, but all the appropriate dancers I have obvious are taught or trained. Behind many years busy with Emma and after watching so many of her very moving performances, Emma auditioned for the Fresh Zealand School of Dance as a Contemporary Major. From age 5 students can do classes in Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop Tap, classes become a bit more formal and in ballet particularly the number of classes amplify from grade 2 upward. I began dancing at the age of 3 in Blenheim and throughout the years completed exams in RAD Ballet, Dupree American Jazz and BB Tap. Starting her ballet examinations with STD Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Danceworks then changed and began teaching the RAD Royal Academy of Dance syllabus which she has loved.
We give examination programmed to suit all, whether students are new to ballet or already have dance experience
